We provide clear solutions for our clients’ complex challenges in sectors where we have strong expertise and knowledge (Industries, Food, Agri, Retail & Healthcare, Telecom, Media, Technology & Services, Shipping & Intermodal, Commercial Real Estate and Oil & Gas). Agile and flexible, we think and act like entrepreneurs to support our corporate clients in building their businesses.
The Innovation Lab is an informal set-up within NIBC to foster, stimulate and execute new ideas and projects which fit the entrepreneurial character of NIBC and allow us to offer advanced solutions to our clients. One of the projects is focused at improving our risk monitoring techniques.
What will you do?
The Innovation Lab in cooperation with the Risk Department offers an ambitious and talented student in the final year of education the opportunity of doing an internship. As an intern you are an integral part of the Risk team and you will work in small and focused project teams. In addition, it is possible to write your thesis in a business environment in combination with working on several projects (subject to be agreed).
This internship is characterized by an inspiring environment providing many intellectual challenges. Your main responsibilities include conducting research on applying portfolio management techniques on corporate debt portfolios which at NIBC totals EUR 10 bn and encompasses 500 clients. Based on this research, we aim to improve our tools to monitor and pro-actively assess risks on a portfolio level and to manage our various sector portfolios and sector allocations within a dynamic environment. Where possible we seek to develop portfolio balancing tools and early warning signals. You will work closely with professionals from different Risk teams (Financial Market Credit Risk, Credit Modelling & Portfolio Analysis, Risk Analytics & Model Validation and Restructuring & Distressed Assets) and other Corporate Banking teams.
