Position Description

Ampersand is seeking a full-time intern to support the investment team in our Amsterdam office for a six-month period. The intern will work directly with investment team members to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in Ampersand’s target sectors of the healthcare industry. 

Major Responsibilities

• Identify and screen prospective investment targets in various healthcare market subsectors

• Conduct market research and analyses to support investment origination efforts

• Support the evaluation of potential acquisition targets, which includes analyzing market structure, competition, company strategies, business models and financial information

• Support the preparation of financial models and other information for internal Ampersand discussions and decision making

• Prepare presentations to support interactions with target companies

• Provide other hands-on support as needed

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking an ambitious individual with a strong academic track record and previous, relevant internship and/or work experience. Apart from strong analytical skills, we are looking for a team player with a hands-on mentality. More specific qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Biological/Chemical sciences

• Recently earned or currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Biological/Chemical sciences

• Prior work/internship experience in Investment Banking, Strategy Consulting or Private Equity, with experience in one or more of Ampersand’s target healthcare industry segments a “plus” 

• Strong analytical skills

• Excellent oral and written presentation skills

• Proficiency in English is required; German language is an advantage 

• Team player who thrives in an entrepreneurial, collaborative firm culture

• Self-starter attitude
