Job description

We at Nestlé Research & Development in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develop for Nestlé worldwide new products, processes, and packaging concepts in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition. 

 

Within the Product Development Department of NPTC Nutrition, and more specifically in the Infant & Toddler Nutrition Team, we are looking for an open-minded and entrepreneurial Intern working with us to support development projects that aim at developing nutrition solutions, dairy and plant-based products for Infants and Toddlers.

 

A Day in the Life of a Product Development Intern

 

  • Give support to development projects under the supervision of Product Development Specialists:
  • Perform literature and patent search related to the product category
  • In collaboration with Nestlé colleagues, define the areas to explore and the experimental trial plan
  • Plan, prepare and run kitchen/benchtop/prototyping trials and/or pilot plant trials
  • Organize raw materials, product analytics, release of samples, sensory and keeping quality tests
  • Participate and organize internal team discussions and regular updates
  • Document, report and present project results internally to relevant Nestlé colleagues


Requirements

  • Bachelor/Master degree completed or Master’s student in Food Technology/Food Science/Food Engineering/Chemistry requiring first working experience while still enrolled at University during time of the internship
  • Strong interest in hands-on experience in product development 
  • Proactive and result focus combined with an innovative mindset
  • Good communication skills and working well in teams 
  • Fluent in English (oral and written), at ease at networking in international environment. German is a plus. 


Working conditions

  • Master degree student in Food Science, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or similar
  • Strong interest in product development and product ingredients
  • At ease and cooperating well in a team with an autonomous, organized, and pro-active mindset
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills
